You could have a temp sensor that's reading incorrectly but more likely it would be a fuel pump with a bad check valve in it. It will not hold rest pressure and will siphon the fuel back into the tank overnight. To diagnose this, you will need a fuel pressure aguge and see if it holds pressure when the engine is shut off. If it's not holding, immediatly pinch off the feed line and see if that makes it hold. That would indicate a bad pump.
