power to fuel pump

I have a 1993 Chevy 2w/d 1/2 ton 4.3 It might run all day or cut off and back on going down the road or leave it idel a fue min. and it will shut off. then it takes anywhere from 1/2hour to a day to start. Something is cutting power to the fuel pump. I thought it was the pump itself so I changed it but,it's doing the same thing.woud you please guide me in the right direction to what might be cutting my power to my fuel pump.              Thanks

How are you concluding that fuel pump power is getting cut off?
