Question

Check engine light keeps coming on

Sent to Car Experts May 02 3:05 p.m.

Have had starter, alternator, battery, pcv
egr, spark plugs, air filter, gas filter,
serpentine belt, radiator hoses replaced
by a mechanic, however, in a few days the check engine light and the battery light came on. Car stalled but letting it set for a few minutes it started up, went about 3 miles and it did it again.
all the dash gauges quit working as well as the stereo. Let set for a few
minutes and it started again. Went 4 miles and it did it again. Mechanic said that the alternator he put in was defective and changed it. 3 days later, the check engine light is back on. Have
notice that when I'm driving at steady
30 to 40 mph on level road, I feel a
kind of jerking feeling like it is missing or cutting out for a second or so at a time, but the idle is very smooth.
