I have a 1997 Pontiac Bonneville SE, vin 1G2HX52K4VH227621. I no longer receive air flow from the vents in the dash. I have full flow of air on the windshield and the floor area below the dash. Could please share with me the problem and the part number to repair this problem.

Thanks,
Michael

The a/c system is digital. To help with your question I found a climate control device on ebay that looks like the one I have in my car. The following is the location on ebay that has a photo of the part: 190126198221.

There has not been any recent work on the a/c unit or other repairs.

One more bit of information. The display indicates that the climate control has switched to the dash vents when you select that fuction.

Hope this will help.

I will be out for a short time and will check my email later today for your reply.

Thanks,
Michael

Thanks. OK, sounds to me like a vacuum problem, not a control head problem. The system utilizes an 'hvac programmer' This recieves vacuum from the vacuum supply tank located under the pass. side fender, forward of the wheel. It has two vacumm lines. 1 is black- that is the tank supply from the engine. the other is purple- that is the supply to the programmer under the pass. side of the dash. With no vacuum or a faulty programmer, the system defaults to defroster and floor. First check for vacuum at the programmer purple vac. line, with the engine running. If no vacuum, will need to trace that purple hose back to tank. Check for vacuum to the tank from the engine on the black hose at the tank. If no vacuum in to the tank, will need to trace to the engine. Possible the vacuum hose nipple broke off the tank, the tank is cracked, or the vacuum hose from the engine is burned or leaking not allowing vacuum to feed the tank. If all vacuum is good, most likely cause is the hvac programmer and not the digital control head in the dash. If the control haed lights function, but system does not react, the control head is probably doing its job. The programmer receives signals from control head, then programmer distributes vacuum to the different airflow doors throught the dash. Check for vacuum first. You can also try and tap lightly on programmer with system on and see if things change. Thanks. Joel
