I have a 1997 Pontiac Grand AM, approximately 21, 227 ...

I have a 1997 Pontiac Grand AM, approximately 21, 227 miles on the vehicle - nothing has ever gone wrong on the vehicle. Today drove vehicle appproximately 8 miles to work, parked. At lunch 4 hours later, started vehicle and the "Service Engine Lite" came on, and a slight hesitation came on only when stopped, when driving I have a smooth drive. I drove to/from lunch approximately 3 miles, light still on and the chugging is still there only when stopping. My pressure in vehicle is fine, my fluids were just changed 3 months ago including the gas filter. All fluid levels are fine. My vehicle has pickup. What could possible wrong and will I be able to drive home the 8 miles this evening.
