If so where would this sending unit be located?

THE MOST COMMON PROBLEM IS THE SENDING UNIT ITSELF. THE SENDING UNIT IS PART OF THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY (MODULAR) AND IS LOCATED IN THE FUEL TAKE, WHICH REQUIRES THE REMOVAL OF THE TANK TO ACCESS. THERE IS ALWAYS A POSIBILITY A WIRING OR ELECTRICAL PROBLEM EXISTS, BUT ONE INDICATION THAT MAY HELP IS IF IT STARTED SHORTLY AFTER A FILL OF THE TANK.

Reply to RIP's Post: Did you say removing the gas tank is the only way to get to the sending unit to replace it?

YES, THE PUMP AND SENDER UNIT ARE INSIDE THE GAS TANK. THE TANK HAS TO BE DROPPED FROM UNDERNEATH(EMPTY) AND THE MODULE REMOVED THIS IS USUALLY APPRX A 2.5 HOUR LABOR JOB AT MOST SHOPS. SOMETIMES IN UNUSUAL CASES THERE MAY BE A WORN LINE THAT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED WHILE THE TAKE IS DOWN. THANKS

Reply to RIP's Post: Well i guess you did not know that there is an access plate in the trunk that when removed the whole fuel pump assy. can be removed. Sorry but you are not to helpfull with my problem. Now i can do the job myself rather than taking it to a dealer & have the tank removed at an unbearable price. I cant accept your info, because you steered me wrong.
Oh! my neighbor told me to look in the trunk for
for this access plate.
