Hello PLEASE HELP ME!! I have a 1995 Grand Am GT 3.1 liter engin (V6). It has been over heating an no one can seem to find the problem. I have had it in 2 garages and spent over $700.00 I changed the water pump, thermo. stat (4 times), heat sensor and ive had the motor diagnosed they say its not the heads, ive had the radiator flushed,a new rad. cap, and had the system "Burped" to get any air out ,I even changed the intake gaskets. AND IT IS STILL OVERHEATING!!!!!!! it has 138,000 miles and seems to have good power. It seem to overheat within the first few minutes of running but after the thermostat opens a few times it seem to be ok . DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THIS COULD BE.

With that many miles the radiator could still be plugged. Also you never mentioned weather the cooling fan kick on when temperatures get high. The fan should cycle on at about 212 degrees, if not you could be looking at a relay, fan or electrical problem. If the fan is working and the radiator is not plugged the you should feel good heat flow coming off the radiator during the cycle. I hope this helped if so an accept would be appreciated.
