I have a 1995 pontiac grand prix with the 3.4 liter V6 engine. The engine starts and runs ok, however, on occassions it is like electrical power shuts off. the engine dies, and all lights on the dash display (as when first turning the key to start the engine). Some times the shut off is momentary and the power is immediately restored. other times the engine must be restarted with the ignition key. The engine always restarts easily. This problem occured suddently about two weeks ago. Some days the problem does not happen and on other days it may happen once or twice. I have a new battery and have checked the tightness of the battery terminals.

ACCEPTED Check Mark

If I were going to gamble on this one I would replace the 7x crank sensor. It's located in the back of the engine not on the front of the crankshaft. The one on the front of the crank is the 24x sensor and shouldn't cause your problem.
