1995 Plymouth Voyager TAPS

I have a 1995 Plymouth Voyager with a 2.5- it has a tapping during acceleration. We pulled of the oil pan and checked the rod bearings and replaced them. could not feel any slack from the rist pins. Put it back together and still the same thing. It sounded like it could be in the valve cover so we pulled it off but didn’t find anything. HELP PLEASE--- Thanks--- Sam
