you can measure the frequency which is a a/c signal with your volt meter. The easiest way to check is with a scanner. If no signal= bad

I was wrong, I was thinking of the 89 and newer 3.0 which has the ckp. THe 88 as listed in this post doesnt have a ckp to conrol igniton, fuel timing. The 88 3.0 has the sensor inside of the distributor. Sorry for the mistake!

Reply to Dave's Post: So then given the problem what do you think the solution is? I have thought about replacing the engine computer, however there is proper voltage and responds to circuit testing. However, I am unable to read any error codes, which may be due to the testing harness. I am not sure what the problem could be. As I said before there is fuel running into the injectors, so that couldn't be the problem.
