Question

How do I install an input sensor in a 1998 Plymouth Voyager Caravan

Sent to Car Experts September 02, 2005 11:28 p.m.

I need to install both the input and output sensor in a Plymouth Voyager Caravan (1998) I purchase the parts today from Chyrsler. The transmission is not shifting after 3rd gear.

REPLIED Check Mark

One of them is in the tailshaft of the trans and the other is in the top of the differential. They are very easy to change, usually only held in by one or 2 bolts. The one in the differential is just one bolt. remove the bolt and twist it back and forth to lift the sensor out.

I was told that they would both be in the same area as part of the van's computer. Can you give a little more detail in the instructions. This is my first time trying this "alone".

ACCEPTED Check Mark

Sorry, but I don't have any specifics or diagrams on the locations. They won't be too far apart because the transmission and differential are all one piece in a front wheel drive. Once you have the part, you should be able to see the matching part on the transmission.
