removal of oil sludge from engine

my wife did not have oil change for a few years on our 2000 ford focus, and know has sludge buildup badly in engine.

You should begine by chaning the oil every 1000-2000 miles and filter, before running any flush additives in there...doing so now may cause the buildup to break loose and plug crucial oil passages or the oil pickup screen. After the first couple of oil changes, try using a flush additive over-the-counter and flush the engine out. Than do this every oil change at exactly 3k miles, for the next 5 or 6.
