how do I wire up my 2001 chevrolet pickup , hookup toa utility trailer? I have purchased awiring kit and followed the directions , but only the right turn flashes no matter if the turn signal switch is on left or right . also the brake & running lights don't come on when turn

Already Tried:
I have traced each colored wire from vihicle wire loom to trailer lights.

Hello,
If you have traced out the wires and your sure the connections are good.
First use a 12 volt test light on the new plug you installed on the pickup. Ground the test light and probe the plug holes. The plug should light the test light at one hole when the brake pedal is depressed. Another hole should light the test light with the parking lights on etc.
Also, make sure you have a GOOD ground between the trailer and the truck.
