I have a 1990 Olds 88, 3.8L. It comes up with a code 41, cam sensor. I have changed the cam sensor twice, crank sensor twice, harmonic balancer, control module, coil pack, computer, injectors, plugs, and wires. It still comes up with the same code and still runs poorly. What is wrong with it?!!!

Greetings! Sounds like the magnet on the camshaft sprocket has deteriorated. The sensor cannot pickup a correct signal because of this. New wiring or cam sensor will not fix this. You will need to get in there and replace the magnet on the camshaft sprocket.

Should I just go ahead and change the chain and gears while I'm in there? Does the magnet come on a new timing set?
