Hi: I have a 1991 chevy s-10 pickup with a 4.3.I have replaced the computer and the iac motor.When it is cold the truck runs normal but when it get fully warm the engine speed rises it cruises at about 30 mph and wont come down . We installed the both yesterday.Why I changed the computer, was in the morning I would start with no fast idle and hard to start.But when you drove it after awhile the engine speed would start rising ,then when you shut it off and restart it would idle normal but now when you shut off abd restart it still idles fast.I'm lost any ideas would really me out

Hi Joe: computer I got from autozone remanufactued I don't have check engine light on I never messed idle stop screw my nephew left work tonight and said when he started the truck it ran normal then about 5 miles down the road it started to run fast it cruises at 45 mph with your foot off the gas pedal

This sounds like a coolant temp sensor, or vacumn leak. Usually a vacumn leak will cause the engine to run a little rough though. The coolant temp sensor tells the ecm when the engine is warm and to bring it off of fast idle. If the sensor is sending a bad signal the ecm thinks the engine is still cold. I would 1: Check all my fluids, (low coolant can cause a sensor to send bad signals) 2: Check Closely for ANY vacumn leaks. ( the smallest leak can this). 3: If that checks okay replace the temp sensor. Thanks, Joe
