I have a 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue with a 3.5 v6. It overheats, as I drive the temperture builds. I have replaced the Themostat and the serpentine belt. If I run the car with radiator cap loose it runs higher than normal but doesn't overheat. The service engine light also came on after this problem started. If I rev the engine in nuetral the temperture comes down but goes right back up.

An o-ring issue on your intake plenum (which is relatively common on this engine) would show an oil leak before any more serious conditions such as engine overheating or anything of that sort would occur.
