I own a 1995 Oldsmobile Aurora and i have removed the water pump housing and can get to the water pump but have failed many times in removing the pump from the housing. I do have the special tool to "unlock" the water pump but can nut break it free. Do i turn it counter clockwise or clockwise and is there any pins or any object i need to remove to free the water pump to turn?

1995 Oldsmobile Aurora 4.0L northstar

Already Tried:
removing the water pump with the special tool but it only strippes the water pump teeth and doesn't move.
