on a olds regency i am trying to get the regulator off

on a 1985 Olds 98 regency, I am trying to get the regulator off on the engine to replace, I have the screws out, but can not get it off to put the new one on. any ideas? Lena

Reply to john's Post: sorry, yes, I believe it is the EGR valve. I got it at O'Reilly's yesterday, and it only says regulator on it, it goes on the drivers side back of the engine. It is because when I would start it up, it would have a hard time starting, and would die sometimes, the mechanic called it a air flow motor, but the parts store did not call it that. I am trying to do it myself to save labor charge at the shop.
