I own a 1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse 2.0 DOHC (non-turbo). It has 90,000 miles on it. It burns about 1-2 quarts of oil between oil changes and is due for a tune up. Recently, I have noticed that the oil pressure gauge drops below the low operating level at idle, and rises to the low line when I accelerate. It used to fluctuate beteen the low and high levels, but never dropped below the low line until now. I checked the oil level and it is fine. The oil light doesn't light up when the oil pressure gauge drops. Do you think that my oil pressure is really that low or is the sending unit bad?
