I have a 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse. My cigarette lighter has burned out. It is not the fuse. I have tried, without success to remove the old lighter assembly. What do I do??

Popping out the and unscrewing the assembly

There is a round housing on the backside that threads off the inner element after you remove the wires.You may need pliers to turn it but don't crush it with them.

Do I have to take that panel off under the radio.Is that where the wires are??
