I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant ES and the horn is giving me problems. A while back the horn all of a sudden started going off and wouldn't stop, the car was parked and turned off at the time. I ended up having to remove the horn relay to make the horn stop. A guy at a mitsubishi dealership told me the horn relay was probably just fried, So I bought a new one and installed it, but the horn just kept going off.
What else could be wrong? Why won't my horn stop? Could there be something wrong with the contact on the steering wheel? (where you push to make the horn sound)

Yes there very well could be a problem in the steering wheel area or anywhere between it and the relay.Sometimes cars equipped with air bags will do this when the air bag assembly goes bad.If you remove it from the steering wheel and the horn quits you know you have found the problem. If it continues with the wires disconnected at the steering wheel you have a short to ground on the horn circuit.
