i have a 1991 mercury tracer with tranny problems shifts just fine for the first few miles then if i stop and take off again it wont pull in any gear just like its stuck in netural shut the car off start it back up and go again but now its worse not happening at all i changed the fluid and filter but no help i may have put the wrong fluid in it not sure its been parked for a while now i started it the other day to move it and when i put it in gear it kills the engine
