Question

I have a 1993 Mercury Villager LX and the engine light ...

Sent to Car Experts March 20, 2006 9:59 a.m.

I have a 1993 Mercury Villager LX and the engine light keeps coming on and off. It seems to be that braking causes the light to come on, and then after accelerating for a few blocks, the light goes off. I have 125,000 miles on it, and it is in good condition otherwise. Can you suggest what might be triggering this and can it be an indication of a more serious problem ahead?

You need to go to autozone and get them to scan the system for codes. They will do this for free. Let me know what the codes are and i will help you out. Thanks.

I don't believe AutoZone has the ability to scan a 93.

You are correct. They could not find the little box so I will go my car repair place and have it checked out. Thanks for all your help.
