I HAVE A 1995 MERCURY SABLE THAT I RECENTLY HAD THE FUEL PUMP REPLACED AND IT SOUNDED AS IF THE PUMP CONTINUED TO RUN, A MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT THE RELAY WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED BUT DIDNT KNOW WHERE THE RELAY WAS LOCATED.

On the 1995 model Sable the fuel pump relay is located inside a module called CCCM or Constant Control Relay Module. Theis module contains relays for the fuel pump, computer power, a/c clutch and cooling fan. The module is located right above the radiator on the drivers side. You need to remove the plastic cover with all of the stickers on it. You will also need the number off of the old one in order to get a new one. If one of these internel relays go bad you need to replace the whole module to replace one. It sounds like he is on the right track though. If the fuel pump relay is sticking it will continue to send power to the fuel pump with the key off. The module has one 24 pin connector that has a bolt through the center to help you identify it.
