Engine light keeps coming on and going off...engine bucks while driving.

Check Engine Light

That is a warning light that comes on if the computerized engine control system detects an engine performance or emissions problem. Also called the "malfunction indicator lamp" (MIL). To determine the nature of the problem, the computer system must be accessed to read the codes that are stored in them.

Then the code is used to execute the repairs needed.

you can get your codes read free at autozone free, but don't buy anything yet as the counter guys at autozone are parts guys not mechanics. Post the codes back here (in the order they were retrieved) then we can help you with your problem.

I knew this already..was hoping you had an idea as to the engine bucking while driving...it seems to be intermittent.
