I have a 1982 Mercedes Benz and the headlights keep burning out. I have changed the alternator and the battery. What can be causing this problem?

I have a 1982 Mercedes Benz and the headlights keep burning out. I have changed the alternator and the battery. What can be causing this problem?

This problem was caused by a defective battery. It would cause an over load problem and then the alternator would put out to much power.   Replaced the battery now everything is ok.
