Air pump
Sent to Car Experts March 15 05:23 PM

I have a 2001 Lincoln LS with 44,000 miles on it. I have taken good care of the car and it currently runs great. However the check engine light is on and has been for a couple of gas cycles. I recieved an estimate and was told that my air pump is broken and needs to be replaced costing me around $500.00. How much should I be paying to replace an air pump on a car like mine.

The A.I.R. pump costs $242.91. The Lincoln part number is XR3Z-9A486-AA. The labor is almost an hour. So unless they have diagnostic labor included in the price it does sound high.
