Question

Check engine light on 2000 Lincoln LS

Sent to Car Experts March 12, 2006 7:23 p.m.

I have a 2000 Lincoln LS with the 3.9 V8 -109,000 miles. I just had a bad coil pack replaced 2 days ago. Only drove the car yesterday and the check engine light came back on after I started the car last evening so that I could wash it. The light did not come on while bringing the car home. Could I possibly have another coil going out already? The dealership stated that they did a stress test on the remaining coils and they were functioning properly. I did also have them do a Motor Vac fuel system clean out while they had the car. Per their suggestion, I immediately filled up with 93 octane gas after picking the car up. Could there be varnish clogging the o2 sensor causing the light to trip on?
