I have a '92 lincoln with a 4.6 fresh rebuild. When I first start it there is excess smoke from the tailpipes that smells of oil.
The shop says the heads were done with new seals and the guides were good. Where can the oil be coming from?

Optional Information:
1992 Lincoln Mark 4.6

Thanks.

I would still have to say itis the valve stem seals. I know what they told you. I had this happen before to me. The machine shop who did my heads did put new valve stem seals, but they were the wrong ones. It happens.

Do you also notice the smoke after idling at a light and then take off seeing bluish smoke come out? This is definately a sign of valve stem seal issues.

Thanks

Relist: I want a different opinion.
the seals on this engine have been replaced once.
It only smokes on initial start and quits. Is there any other source that the oil can come from? PCV system or some vacuum source?
