I have a '99 Lexus ES 300. The engine starts to hesitate at 2500 RPM's. The Lexus dealer has diagnosed the ECM (engine computor located behind glove box) is bad along with all 6 ignition coils ($2000 repair) An indepent mechanic says 1 of the coils was bad and he replaced and it did eliminate the rough idle. I odered an ECM along with the master key (that belonged to that ECM) from a salvage yard that specializes in Lexus, the independent mechanic installed it and had a locksmith come to re-program the new ECM to my key with the aid of the original key from that new ECM. Any thoughts on why it won't start?
