Question

remote auto-lock; kia optima ex 2004

I replaced the battery in my remote auto-lock for my kia, but it still will not engage the alarm or open the truck or lock/unlock door. please advise. is it a fuse?

There aren't a whole lot of ways to test a transmitter and the programming requires a factory scan tool so you kinda screwed with this. You need the dealers help even if you replace the transmitter.

Here is the only info on testing the transmitter that I can find.

TRANSMITTER

  1. Check that the red light flickers when the door lock button or unlock button is pressed on the transmitter.
  2. Remove the battery and check voltage if the red light doesn't flicker. Standard value : 3 V
  3. Replace the battery if voltage is below 3 V and replace the remote control switch if it is inoperable after replacing the battery. Battery : Lithium CR2032 (3 V, 220 mA/h)
