I recently purchased a new single axle trailer (3200 # GVW), which I attached to my AM trailer hitch and 4 wire elec. harness (which I was told by the trailer manufacturer was the required connection). After my third trailer pull (total of not more than fifty miles), the trans. check light came on. I was told by the dealer that their diagnostics showed that I had blown my trans. module, due to not having the required Isuzu harness (although they could not provide a printed copy of the diagnostics as I had requested). Cost of T/mod., harness & install $900.00.

Upon disconnecting the trailer the trans. check light disappeared (although they had told me that it will ruin my trans.) The trailer company said that they had never heard of this and the flat 4 wire should have no affect on the trans. Another dealer told me that "if my trans module was blown, the light would have stayed on. Can anyone shed some light on this problem. I have a 2000 3.5 Trooper.

Optional Information:
2000 Isuzu Trooper 3.5 L
