I have a 1994 isuzu rodeo that makes a loud tapping noise when the engine is below 2000 rpm and when i turn the A.C> it starts to squeal very loud.

Reply to Lurch's Post: i'm not sure what that is.someone told me it might be the lifters or the timing belt is this a possibility or not.it makes the tapping noise even when the A.c is not on

Yes.... The Timing Belt or Lifters can cause a Clicking type noise, that would be Internal, but I would start with External check. If the A/C Squeals when ON, the Bearings in the Compressor could be Bad & be causing the Clicking Noise. You could Remove A/C Belt & see if noise is still present. If it is, check Air Pump the same way.
