I have a 1998 Isuzu Rodeo V-6 4X4 I am wondering why the Battery and brake light would come on for no reason when it is running at low RPM. Can it be an altenator

Hello!

Yes, a charging system that is malfunctioning can cause symptoms like you describe. If battery voltage drops too low, the charging light (battery light) will come on to let you know the battery is not being charged up; also, some electronic systems (such as brake control systems and airbag systems) are very sensitive to voltage levels; a low voltage at teh control module will often cause a brake light or other warning light to come on as well.

I would suggest having your charging system checked by a qualified mechanic; any repair shop can do this for you very quickly and easily. Many will do it for free, if you purchase any needed repair from them.

I hope this is helpful; if so, please click my accept button! Thanks!
