85 Isuzu Transmission

1985 Isuzu I-Mark 1.5 Engine. The automatic transmission has some type of valve on top of it. Gold colored about 2" tall and 5" in diameter. It has a connection for a 1/4" hose. What is that supposed to be connected to? Is it just a vent?
