OOPS!

In the morning or afternoon VERY difficult to start. May run OK at low RPM (1000~ 1500) for some time them it gets like old carb engines with clogged needle/venturi. Might reach 45 MPH with mileage of an old Sherman Tank. On hills it dies. Once or Twice smoked pretty bad (Black). Isuzu dealer chaged Cat Conv, Oxy Sens, Plugs, Injectors Mass Flow Element they claim reloaded SW into ECM and I am thinking about a Molotov or sell it as parts. All ignition coils were replaced. Drained tank added new fuel fiter & checked pressure, still misbehaving. I am Frustrated

Is the check engine light still coming on?

What, if any codes are being set?

Hi there!

The light is of for a few seconds after the engine is started then the engine kinda loose power shakes a bit and the light goes on steady for as long as the engine is on. I'll obiously have to pay more than the $25 I initialy offered. I have done some homework but I have not been told the OBD codes and I am thinking about buying a reader but I am uncertain. I earn my bacon, bread and butter with computers not cars!

ACCEPTED Check Mark

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT

That is a warning light that comes on if the computerized engine control system detects an engine performance or emissions problem. Also called the "malfunction indicator lamp" (MIL). It can come on for any of hundreds of different causes from any of the systems that the computer monitors. Some are very important and some not as serious.

Your first step is to have the computer scanned to retreive the trouble codes that were set when the check engine light came on. Those codes will get you pointed in the right direction. With a 1996 or newer and some 95 cars and you have an AutoZone in your area, they will read them for free.

After that you can post back for the definition if you still need it.

This is in line with what I knew. I appreciate you kind assistance. What I will like to know is where can I find info on the problems for that make, model & engine. I talked to other people with have Axioms and of course Rodeo's with that 3.5 L engine and they are screaming. Do you know about places (sources) that have info on possible manufacturing problems or design flaws?

Out side of the fuel pump recal listed below, there really isn't much at all in TSBs. Nothing in any type of repeating failure.

Here's the recall.
