I have a 1997 Isuzu Rodeo, 4WD, automatic transmission. I recently started hearing a thumping or knocking noise when turning a low speeds. I had one mechanic to check it out but could not determine when it was coming from. The rear ABS and brake light stays on now. I have no problem with braking or no visible leaks. Could that be the problem?

Optional Information:
1997 Isuzu Rodeo V6, 3.2

Already Tried:
rear end check. tie rods.

I suspect that you may have a problem in your rear differential and that the 2 problems are related. If a gear or bearing has failed in the rear diff and spreads metal in the unit, it will coat the rear speed sensor with metal flakes and keep it from reading correctly, this will set an ABS light. I would have it scanned to find the code for th ABS and then drain the fluid from the diff and look for metal. If metal is in the fluid it will need to come apart.
