I have a 1997 Infiniti I30 and am having starting problems.

I have a 1997 Infiniti I30 and am having starting problems. The battery is new, the alternator is okay, yet it only wants to start after I press the gas pedal down and release. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You may want to check the throttle position sensor, and clean it a bit, if this does not solve the issue, check the fuel primer on top of the intake manifold, see if the unit is still injecting fuel when engine is cranking.
