My 2004 Hyundai is experiencing a shuddering when first put into gear, either forward or reverse. Once under way, it shifts OK, and once a constant speed is reached, ir performs with no problems. Once the transmission downshifts on acceration/decceleration, it shudders again. What is the problem?

Hi, welcome to JA.

  • I would have the engine and transmission mounts checked first, they're common to break or become weak, this causes a jolt, shudder, hesistation when givng the engine gas in lower gears.
