How do I test the crankshaft angle and camshaft angle sensor

2001 Hyundai Elantra 1.8lt engine.Cuts out sometimes or wont start sometimes.Dont think the immobiliser system is the problem even though ECU codes relate to immobiliser.I only have access to a Multimeter to test(ohms? test)
