I just bought a GMC Jimmy, 2000.When I first start it and start to go,I get a loud roar that lasts till I reach around thirty five mph.The dealer said that the way these Jimmys are and they all make this roaring noise, It is the clutch fan that is comming on.It sounds like I am drining a race car till this fan shuts off.I only have this roar when start the car.My question,is there a fix for this noise.I have never had a truck or car that makes this much noise.

Hello Customer (name blocked for privacy), this is a pretty common issue on these vehicles. The fan clutch should disengage when the vehicle is moving. It really should not roar for too long in the morning. If it continues to do so then you may want to install a new clutch. It is better though for this fan to run more then not enough. You just want to make sure that as the engine runs that the clutch starts to disengage. In the morning start the vehicle and pay attention to the sound and the amount of air coming from the rear of the fan. As the engine is running the clutch should start to disengage and become quieter. If it does not then it should be replaced.
