Q-jet carb choke
Sent to Car Experts April 01 04:56 PM

The electric choke on my '84 GMC Suburban, which has a 350 and quadrajet carb, will not shut off. I replaced the connector from the wire to the choke, but every time I start it, the 20 amp fuse blows. I've been told to replace the carb - is there a cheaper way to fix the problem?

Yes, you should be able to buy a new choke spring. Try like AutoZone or a proffessional parts jobber may be able to get you one.
