I have a 89 gmc 1500 sle seirra 4x4 ,it stopped dead and ...

I have a 89 gmc 1500 sle seirra 4x4 ,it stopped dead and there is no spark. the gm key code is 12 what does that refer to, i do not know where to look online to find what the codes mean.

12 is not a fault code...it's a seperator code.

If you have an '89 and you lost spark...take the air cleaner lid off and have someone turn it over...do the injectors not spray either? Then replace the 7 pin ignition module in the distributor. You'll need a 5.5mm socket for the module screws.

no I used the gm code key and got that number

Anyway...
