4l60e trans. 93 GMC 1500. My trans works perfect through 1st and 2nd

My trans works perfect through 1st and 2nd with the exception of not always shifting down when I come to a stop. 3rd slips badly. Truck sat up for 10 months. Put new motor in it. Damaged pump seal. Replaced pump seal. 3rd slips like crazy. HELP!

Already Tried:
Replaced front seal. Fluid. Trans additive.

Chances are the trans is bad or the valve body is sticking.The additive should have freed up a sticking valve body though.Did you replace the flat paper gasket under the pump that sits on the front of the tran case?If not it may be torn causing a pressure drop.

Reply to Davo's Post: Do you think the truck sitting up for 10 months could have harmed it? It worked perfect before. When I replaced the motor, I drove it down the road and that is when I noticed the front pumo seal leaking. This is frustrating!

Seals can get hard and leak after sitting for a while.They can also just crack from sitting.The problem may be in the 3-4 clutch area(seal or valve body circuit).I don't know if this would help you but Autozone sells a trans for $650.You may be able to get your rebuilt locally for less but it isn't very likely.I don't get anything for suggesting Autozone just wanted to let you know there are less expensive options out there.
