2001 GMC Jimmy 2X2 / check engine light on ...

2001 GMC Jimmy 2X2 apprx 48K miles. My check engine light is on and provides the following code: P0410 Secondary Air Injection System Malfunction. It is running fine and without issue. I am going to take it to the dealer, but I don't want them to hit me with unneccessary repairs for more $. Is there a repair normally depicted by this code, or can it be a number of things. Just trying to be informed when I take it to the dealer.

Gm has a service bulliten on this condition to replace a hose that allows water to get into air pump.

remember this is a bulliten not recall so it is not a no cost repair if your out of warrenty.

Approximately, how much should this repair cost? I know you can't be exact, but a ballpark would be helpful.

Its been several years since I have done one but it seems like it was around 300$ it the pump has to be replaced if pump is on I am thinking around 150$

also according to your mileage the air pump may be warranty and sometime they will warranty all of it if still under emission warranty. I can't say what the emission warranty is any more since that keep changing it.
