I have a 1999 GMC Safari... One morning the battery was dead and I found that to be odd because of a recent new battery and alt. . After jump starting it an a alt. charge,
upon shutting off the ignition the front blower motor kept running even though everthing was turned off, all switches and ignition. So, I disconnected the blower motor under the hood think I had a problem with a switch. I tried to start my van 2 days later and the battery was dead again. It seems as something is taking a turn at draining the battery.
I'm wondering if it is the CPU....

Does your blower motor still run with key shut off if so it could be a hi blower relay. Your Safari has a blower relay /resistor module and if it shorted out then if can cause the fan to run and also cause the battery drain even with the blower motor unplugged. Attached is the wiring diagram for the system. you can try pulling the 30 amp A/C maxi fuse in under hood fuse box and see if fan shuts off. 2006-06-08_154246_blower.zip

If this doesn't that care of the draw then finding it can get quite involved.

Good luck
