I have a 5.7 V8 Vortec on a GMC 3500 p/u and the block ...

I have a 5.7 V8 Vortec on a GMC 3500 p/u and the block cracked where the outer starter bolt goes into. The bolt will not hold and eyeryone is telling me I might have to buy a new motor. Is there anything else you suggest?

J B wield, putting a smaller bolt in w washer and nut on top
