i have a 1989 gmc s15 that won't go. It goes in gear and will move at idle speed but it just revs and keeps moving at idle speed when i give it gas. any ideas on what the problem might be?

Sounds like your transmission is slipping. It Will have to be overhauled or replaced with a rebuilt one http:///www.jasperengines.com/ available from an aftermarket supplier. You can spend between about $1200.00 to 2400.00 dollars getting the trans fixed.
