98 GMC ABS
Sent to Car Experts September 14 12:54 AM

98 GMC JIMMY, 4.3, 95k, the question is the abs braking system. I had Just purchased the vehicle, the pads and rotors had been replaced. Only when I come to a stop sign (under 5 mph) the petal pulsates like I hit the brakes on ice. It does not do it any other speed, just when its about at a complete stop. No abs light, no leaks, no other braking problems at any speed. Is this anything that sounds familiar to you? If it does, I appreciate your time and your know how.Thank You Chris L.

What's happening there is the ABS is engaging when coming to a stop. The reason for this is tha one of the speed sensors is losing it's speed signal at very low speed and thhe ABS module sees that as a locked wheel because of no speed input for that moment. You will need a scan too with data and movie capability to determine which sensor is causing the problem. That would be able to freeze and replay the data frames for that moment to examine and determine which sensor is not accurate at that moment.
