What problems has GM had with 4L60-E automatic ...

What problems has GM had with 4L60-E automatic transmissions? I have a 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 2WD 4 Door Pickup with Vortec 5300 engine and 103,000 miles. After transmission fluid and filter changed, I started having slippage in transmission. Local dealer stated the torque converted was bad and installed GM remanufactured 4L60-E transmisssion, and I am still having problems.

Most of the problems that gm has had with the 4L60E transmissions have been either valve body or shift solenoid related. Other than that they have been a decent transmission. I have done several of these do to just having worn friction material, but not any more than normal. The gm reman transmissions are in my opinion the best transmission you can buy for the money. the offer an excellent warranty and if you are having a problem with your new transmission I would put it to test. If your dealer can replicate the problem and you are under your 3 yr/100,000 mile warranty they should be fixing it for you. To be honest with you, I feel that gm has built a pretty good transmission as far as the 4L60e goes. Feel free to contact me with any questions or if you would prefer a second opinion. Good luck!
